Study Permit and Extensions
Foreign nationals usually require study permit to study at any of the designated learning institutions (DLI) in Canada. A designated learning institution means a school which is approved or authorized by a provincial or territorial government in Canada to offer study programs to foreign / international students.
If you want to study at any of the designated learning institutions (DLI) in Canada, you must meet the following requirements:
- enrolled at a designated learning institution (DLI);
- have sufficient funds with proof to pay your tuition fees, living expenses in Canada and other expenses associated with your study in Canada;
- have a valid police certificate to evidence that you do not have any criminal record;
- have undergone the required medical examination;
- prove to an Immigration Officer that you will not stay in Canada beyond the validity of your study permit.
